KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs Lower Employees Association has demanded Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to establish its own hospital for ensuring the best medical facilities for the Class-IV employees.
The Pakistan Customs Lower Employees Association President Misal Khan Bangash made this demand while talking to Customs Today at his office.
While expressing his reservations, Bangash said that the employees of federal run institutions including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Karachi Port Trust and others were already availing best available medical treatment and facilities in all prominent hospitals of the city. However, the lower employees of Pakistan Customs were deprived of any medical facilities and treatment under the auspices of government services.
Bangash further revealed that the Pakistan Customs dispensary was laid defunct for last 10 years. He said that the Common Pool Funds (CPF) has not being used for the welfare of Class-IV employees since the 2004 and the said pathetic situation compels the employees to purchase every single tablet by their own.
He further informed this scribe that the Pakistan Customs Lower Employees Association has prepared a paper work in connection with the recommendation for establishment of a hospital for the employees and it would be presented before the FBR soon.
On the occasion, Bangash also reiterated his association demand for implementing Supreme Court verdict regarding up gradation of Class-IV employees.
