LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) team impounded a non-duty paid BMW car near New Muslim Town. The market value of seized vehicle is Rs70 million.
Sources told Customs Town on Sunday that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Rubab Sikandar received credible information about some smuggling attempts. She constituted squads under the supervision of M. Sarwar which also includes Intelligence Officer Agha Sultan Haider and Zulfiqar Ali Dogar.
The customs team established a check-post near New Muslim Town and started checking of vehicles. During which the team intercepted a BMW bearing registration no: BDS-570. The customs team asked the owner of the vehicle who was identified as Abdul Ghani who is a resident of Islamabad to produce legal documents regarding possession of vehicle, but he remained failed. Customs Intelligence team impounded the vehicle and after registering a case started further investigations.
