KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Enforcement has foiled a bid to clear a consignment by M/s Rahat Ampex and saved millions of rupees duty and taxes.
The source informed that M/s Rahat Ampex was clearing a consignment related to toiletries items weighting 9.50 metric tons. The consignment worth $80,000 was shown as $65,000 to save Rs 4.5 million of duty and taxes.
The officers of the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Enforcement has lodged an FIR against the culprits and the investigation has been started.
Earlier the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Enforcement lodged an FIR against the M/s Hassan International against tax evasion through under invoicing. M/s Hassan International declared the imported items worth $5,000 instead of $20,000 to save duty taxes of worth Rs0.5 million.
