ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad’s Inspector Chaudhry Ejaz was shot dead by unknown robbers.
According to details Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad Inspector Chudhary Ejaz was shot dead by unknown robbers in his home which is situated in Qasimabad Rawalpindi locality.
Deputy Director Headquarter Yawar Nawaz told Customs Today that last night unknown robbers entered the house of the inspector for robbery and opened fire on him when he tried to resist. He received serious injuries and was taken to nearby hospital. Yawar Nawaz said that after listening the news of the tragic incident Customs officials reached the hospital. Two operations were conducted but the inspector passed away in hospital. Yawar Nawaz added that Inspector Ch. Ejaz was deployed in Customs Warehouse.
The officials and staff of Islamabad Customs expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic death and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
However, when contacted, customs authorities have said that murder of one of their inspector was murdered during a robbery attempt and has nothing to do with Ayyan money laundering case and news reports about it are fabricated and baseless.
Rawalpindi Customs House Additional Collector Waheedullah Marwat has confirmed Customs Today that Customs Inspector Aijaz murdered in Qasim Abad Rawalpindi at his house, however, he added that deceased was neither Investigation Officer nor detective or witness in Ayyan case, not even a part of any Investigation team.
