Customs foils falcons smuggling attempt at Lahore airport

LAHORE: The Pakistan Customs team at Allama Iqbal International airport foiled an attempt to smuggle precious falcons but failed to arrest the accused.

According to details available to Customs Today, the customs officials Tuesday foiled a bid to smuggle two falcons from Abu Dhabi to Pakistan. However, the suspected smuggler managed to escape.

According to initial investigations, the said accused Abdul Wahab was carrying two birds to Pakistan through a foreign airline flight EK-622.

Recovered falcons were handed over to the Deputy Director of Wildlife Lahore Region Syed Zafarul Hassan.
