KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs staff deputed at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) international departure lounge has apprehended accused along with narcotics.
According to the details, on a tip-off by higher authorities, staff of customs boosted up the surveillance during which a passenger was intercepted on suspicion. The staff of the customs inquired him regarding the travel documents as well as conducted checking of the luggage. During the checking the customs team recovered 700 gram of amphetamine (crystal meth) from the bag of the said passenger.
Customs officers informed Customs Today that the recovered 700 gram of amphetamine (crystal meth) is estimated at Rs70 million in the international market. The said narcotics concealed in the trolley bag with carbon paper to dodge scanning machine operators.
Customs team further stated that the on suspicion and purely on human profiling the staff at the International Departure intercepted a passenger named Amman Ullah after clearing his baggage. The culprit was travelling to Madina from Karachi by Pakistan International Airlines PK-743. The said FIR was lodged against the accused to initiate investigations.
