KARACHI: The Customs Court directed investigation officer to complete investigation and submit charge-sheet against Yasseer Waheed Kahloon, proprietor of M/s E Shippers Trading, Qasim Kazi, Export Manager of M/s Kazi Corporation and others, who were booked in a tax fraud case in the tune of Rs110,880,000.
On November, 17, 2018, investigation officer of Customs Collectorate of Exports submitted that he is trying to arrest suspects and will be produced before the court when arrested.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) submitted by investigation officer, M/s Shippers Trading Shop No.8 Moon Centre, Haji Pura, Daska Road, Sialkot filed export good declaration for export of Unprocessed PK-386 Rice, Super Basmati Rice, 1121 Pakistani Rice and Super Basmati Rice against E-forms through authorized clearing agents M/s Kazi Corporation.
He further submitted that during the investigation M/s Shippers Trading in collusion with clearing agent M/s Kazi Corporation has submitted fake and fabricated E-Forms, meaning thereby that the foreign exchange amounting to Rs110,880,000 was not remitted in the country, despite that goods have been exported.
He stated that the exporters with the collusion of clearing agent have hoodwinked customs by submitting fake documents; therefore, they have violated the provisions of Section 16, 32 (1), 32 (2), 32A, 131, 192 & 209 of the Customs Act, paragraph 3 & 16 of Export Policy Order 2016 read with Section 3 of Imports and Export Control Act, 1950 and other related laws.
After hearing, the court took the FIR into court record and directed investigation officer to arrest the above-mentioned suspects and produce before the court.
The court also directed investigation officer to complete investigation and submit challan on next date of hearing.
