KARACHI: Collector of Model Customs Collectorate Exports Yaqoob Mako has sent a final list of released funds in share of exporters rebate claims to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
According to details, the collector has directed the additional collectors and deputy collectors of the collectorate to prepare a list in this regard and release the outstanding rebate claims to the exporters.
Reacting upon the directives, the authorities concerned of the collectorate have prepared the list of exporters whose rebate claims are yet to be paid by the customs authorities.
In first phase, the exporters has released Rs780million of rebate claims to the exporters, adding that, the customs authorities would also release million of refunds to the exporters by the end of current fiscal year 2016-17.
Customs sources informed Customs Today that the FBR has directed the collector export to release the outstanding rebate claims to the exporters after thorough scrutiny.
Sources further informed that around Rs1800 million of rebate claims for last three years are in pending, adding that, the Federal Government has already directed the FBR authorities to release the rebate claims to the exporters by the end of FY2016-17.
In addition, the business community has hailed the efforts made by the FBR and Customs authorities in connection with releasing the rebate claims to the exporters.
The exporters were of the view that Customs authorities have released millions of rupees rebate and assured that this process would be continued in the future.
