LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling imposed a fine of Rs100,000 each on eighteen truck drivers, who were involved in smuggling of high speed diesel (HSD).
According to details available to Customs Today, the Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has announced its verdict in smuggling case and imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 each on 18 truck drivers, involved in smuggling of high speed diesel. The court also detained the accused persons till the rising of the court as sentence.
Special Judge of the Federal Customs Court Khaqan Babar awarded the sentence after all the accused drivers including Humayan admitted their guilt and left themselves on the mercy of the court.
Earlier in February 2018, the Customs authorities foiled a smuggling bid and seized over one million liters of high speed diesel (HSD) worth Rs 90 million, loaded on 18 trailers, and arrested the drivers.
