KARACHI: The Customs Court framed charge against suspect namely Rahimullah Khan son of Sazullah Khan and called prosecution witnesses for next date of hearing, suspect was booked in a case of attempting to smuggle non-duty paid high speed diesel.
On 19 June 2020, during the hearing, the above mentioned suspect appeared before the court along with his counsel, and after proceedings, court framed charge against him and called prosecution witnesses for next date of hearing.
Earlier, investigation officer had submitted charge sheet against the above mentioned suspect and informed that on an actionable information, a team of Marin Wing Pakistan Coast Guards intercepted a boat Safina Sanaullah © registration no B-21021 engine no TC-13645.
He further had submitted that during the search, Pakistan Coast Guards team recovered 3100 liter Iranian High Speed Diesel which was smuggling from Iran to Pakistan, suspect was asked to produce lawful documents, however, he failed to produce any lawful documents, therefore, after the formalities, goods along with boat were seized and suspect also taken into custody.
After the hearing, court had approved charge sheet against case was adjourned for framing charge and regular hearing.
According to the prosecution, case was registered for violation of under section 2(s) 157 (2) of customs act, 1969 punishable under clause (89) of section 156 (i) ibid read with section 156 (2) of the customs act, 1969.
