LAHORE: Customs Central Region has collected Rs 8,500 million as sales tax during November of the current financial year, posting a growth of 3 percent as compared to the same period of the last financial year.
As per details, the Customs Appraisement Lahore collected Rs 3,339 million, during the period under review. The Customs Preventive collected Rs 1,192 million total sales tax and Collectorate of Multan collected Rs 2,979 million as sales tax during the period under review.
The collectorate of Customs Faisalabad collected Rs 1,061 sales tax as compared to Rs 8,254 million during the last financial year.
Overall, the Central Region collected total sales tax from all the four collectrates amounting to Rs 8,500 million November of the financial year 20161-17. The Central Region had been assigned a target of Rs 8,254 million sales tax collection.
It is necessary to mention here that FBR strictly directed to all customs collectorates of the country to use all available resources to recover outstanding dues from tax defaulters. FBR also directed that stern action will be taken against those tax evaders who will not file their tax returns which will led to seizure of their immovable and movable properties and attachment of bank accounts.
