LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) confiscated non-custom paid cars worth Rs 16.6 million from various areas in the city during ten days.
According to the details, the confiscated vehicles include 2010 model Toyota Vitz worth market value of Rs1,200,000, 1995 model Toyota Hilux Surf worth market value of Rs1,500,000, 2006 model Toyota Corolla worth market value of Rs1,300,000, 2005 model Toyota Vitz worth market value of Rs1,200,000, 2010 model Suzuki Swift worth market value of Rs1,300,000, 2010 model Toyota Corolla Sports car worth market value of Rs2,500,000, 2010 model Toyota Passo worth market value of Rs1,300,000, 2006 model Toyota Vitz worth market value of Rs 1,300,000, 1995 model Toyota Hilux Surf worth market value of Rs1,500,000, 2006 model Honda Civic car worth market value of Rs1,700,000 and Honda Civic VTI worth market value of Rs1,800,000.
The vehicles were impounded on the directions of Additional Collector Tayyaba Kayani and Deputy Collector Muhammad Moazzam Raza. The ASO team includes Superintendent Agha Qadeer, Inspectors Sajjad Bukhari, Muratab Mushataq and others.
The sources said that the seized cars would be auctioned to generate revenue for the national exchequer after completion of legal procedure.
