KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Appraisement West, Deputy Collector of Recovery Cell, has been requested to compile details of outstanding arrears of the Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT) as the reports would be submitted to the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO).
In this regard, Assistant Collector KICT Umair Zahid has forwarded a letter to Deputy Collector, Recovery Cell of Customs Appraisement West Karachi to compile the pending amount at the earliest.
“The Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT) has filed sale proceeds amounting to Rs 86 million for auction as its custodian, for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015. The hearing of the FTO has been in process, and is about to be concluded,” says a letter available with Customs Today.
“It is being requested that any amount which is to be compiled against the probable sanctioned sale proceeds claims of KICT be intimated to this office within a day, as the same has to be brought into the notice of Federal Tax Ombudsman. Your kind cooperation is highly desired”, letter added.
