ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Friday termed China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as national consensus project.
While delivering budget speech in the National Assembly, he lashed at certain foreign elements who are opposing this national consensus project and creating hurdles in the way of this project.
“We will not allow any conspiracy to succeed against this project of vital importance for us.”
He said that CPEC is a vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jin Ping to restore historical links between China and Pakistan besides creating a new and better connectivity to Central and Western Asia.
Ishaq Dar was of the opinion that this corridor is a game changer for the entire region and it will transform Pakistan’s economy.
According to this corridor’s accord, $ 46 billion will be invested in various projects including roads, railway, telecom, Gwadar Port and energy, he maintained.
