PESHAWAR: Advisor to Prime Minister, Engr. Ameer Muqam Wednesday said that 1000 megawatt electricity would be added in the system after completion of ongoing work on hydel power projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Talking to media here regarding ongoing hydro power projects in KP, he said that work on power generating projects including Tarbaila IV and V, Golan Gol Hydro Power Projects Chitral, Kial Khor, Kurram Tangi Dam and Dasu Dam was continue in full swing adding that the country would witness surplus electricity in the year 2017 as compare to consumption ratio.
He said that people would soon enjoy the benefits of steps taken by the government of PML-N to overcome energy crises. He said that power projects in KP would help increasing the generation capacity in the country.
Earlier, Ameer Muqam attended a high level meeting that was also participated by GM Project North, Aziz Ahmad, GM Tarbaila Dam, Iqbal Siddiqui, Director Small and Medium Dams, Shahid Hamid, GM Hydro Nazakat and Chief Engineer Chasma, Naeem Khan.
On the occasion, PM Advisor directed the officials to start visiting project sites and ensure their completion within stipulated by removing hurdles affecting pace of work.
