KARACHI: The higher authorities of Pakistan Customs are continually playing their vital part in boosting the healthy activities as well as are voluntarily engaged in for the betterment of the society.
Chief Collector Customs (Enforcement) South Manzoor Hussain Memon on Wednesday donated blood to Burhani Blood Bank and Thalassemia Center to play his part in the wake of thalassemia eradication that has ruined many lives.
Burhani Blood Bank and Thalassemia Center established its one-day blood donation camp at the Customs House where several staff and officers of the Pakistan Customs donated blood to help the mankind and give the message of sacrifice.
On the occasion, the Chief Collector Customs (Enforcement) was on opinion that counseling and awareness are important aspects for eradicating the diseases. The families of thalassemia minors are counseled to avoid marriages amongst carriers of the disease. The eradication of thalassemia is a dream for which the important departments envisage and work steadfastly towards it, he added.
The official of the Burhani Blood Bank and Thalassemia Center asked the people to join them and raise hands in prayer whereas say a silent prayer for those tiny souls who battle with thalassemia.
