TDAP’s chief meets CM Punjab on Monday
ISLAMABAD: The Chief Executive Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), S.M. Muneer met Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Monday and apprised him about the activities of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan.
He told the Chief Minister that he was trying to bring in the corporate culture in this only Government’s Trade promotion Organization (TPO) of Pakistan.
He informed CM that TDAP participates in over 100 exhibitions abroad every year in all regions of the world and provides substantial subsidy to the exporters in terms of participation fees and stall construction, says a statement issued by the authority here Monday.
“The TDAP organizes more than 50 trade delegations to and from Pakistan, again providing subsidy to the outgoing delegations and hospitality to incoming trade delegations”, Muneer remarked.
He further said that the TDAP organizes visits of Quarantine inspectors from abroad to certify Country’s relevant products and facilities for exports.
The TDAP, he said also facilitates exporters, Pakistan Trade officers and foreign buyers through the help Desks in all its offices to answer their trade queries. TDAP issues GSP certificates for the exporters from all its offices in the Country.
Chief executive TDAP further informed Chief Minister about the successful organization of 9th edition Expo Pakistan at Karachi in February which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
He added that there were 571 exhibitors who are leading exporters of the Country. TDAP invited delegates/foreign buyers from all over the world and 750 buyers from 77 countries visited Pakistan. An estimated US$ 1.3 billion orders were placed. Six MOUs worth US$ 12.3 million between exporters and foreign buyers were signed.
The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of S.M.Muneer and asked him to continue his efforts to help increase Pakistan’s exports.
He said TDAP was an important organization and its success will contribute substantially towards strengthening the Pakistan’s economy and specially exports.
He extended his ad Government’s support and cooperation for the activities undertaken by TDAP.
