KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-index lost 270.17 points or 0.78 percent to reach 34456.34 points and volume of 177,480,940 shares on Tuesday.
Earlier, the KSE took a good start again and added 47.21 points to reach 34773.72 points level, with the total volume of 23,834,340 shares.
On Monday, the KSE closed above 34,700 points mainly due to positive momentum in oil and cement stocks as the benchmark 100-share index recorded a rise of 0.81% or 279.04 points to end at 34,726.51.
Trade volumes rose to 358 million shares compared with Friday’s tally of 282 million shares. Shares of 400 companies were traded on Monday. At the end of the day, 239 stocks closed higher, 134 declined and 27 remained unchanged. The value of shares traded during the day was Rs14.6 billion.
High and low were 34912.45 and 34335.03 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 177,480,940 shares.
