KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-index gained 44.56 points or 0.12 percent to reach 35937.33 points and volume of 159,012,450 shares on Thursday.
Earlier, despite yesterday’s massive fall over poetical turmoil, the Karachi stocks started with positive note as KSE-100 index gained 65.26 points in early trading.
On Wednesday, KSE-100 index suffered a sharp fall of 313.17 points (0.86 per cent) to close at 35,892.77. The investors were confused by the developments on the political front as members of a leading political party (MQM) tendered their resignations from the Sindh Assembly and the two houses of the parliament.
High and low were 36052.62 and 35887.30 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 159,012,450 shares.
