LAHORE: In an interactive session with officials of Regional Tax Office Lahore, trade bodies and associations of retail outlets and traders in the city have been convinced to take advantage of Prime Minister’s tax incentive scheme by registering with the Federal Board of Revenue.
Shafqat Mehmud, Chief Commissioner Lahore said that the city is the hub of retailers’ community and their willingness to operate under the documented regime is an encouraging sign. He explained different salient features of the scheme and clarified the wrong perception of business community. Tax authorities further explained to business community that FBR mobile van with internet-enabled computer will be visiting different markets which will issue NTN certificates on the spot as well as would file one page returns.
This scheme will be extended to all the markets in Lahore. The salient features which Chief Commissioner explained to the traders included acknowledgement of leading taxpayers. Hundred top taxpayers in each category of companies, association of persons, salaried and non-salaried individuals will be issued Taxpayer’s Privilege Card.
Traders requested that the market-wise list of non-filers to be provided to them so that they will request non-filers to avail the Prime Minister’s tax incentive scheme. Accordingly, the list of non-filers is being provided to them.
