ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal Wednesday termed China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) a win-win project for both the countries saying that the projects having win-win paradigm always succeed.
Talking to a news channel, the minister said the project would prove to be a game changer for bringing economic revolution in the country.
He said through this project, Pakistan would become an economic hub of the most populated region of the world.
Replying to a question, the minister said CPEC was not a name of any road rather it embeds development projects in different sectors including energy and infrastructure.
Ahsan Iqbal informed that 34-35 billion US dollars would be invested in private sector energy projects.
He said the projects of CPEC would be launched in all the four provinces as the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was development and progress of the whole country not of any specific province.
Rejecting the misperception regarding route changing of CPEC, he said there were three routes of the project including East, West and central, adding, work on western rout had been started from the last year and was expected to be completed by the end of next year.
He advised that politics should be avoided on the projects of national interests like CPEC.
A visit of businessmen and representatives of media would be arranged to see the ongoing work on the route, the minister added.
To another question, he said the working group for industrial zones would be constituted in next two months with the consultation of all the four provinces.
He said the project of Peshawar to Karachi Motorway would also be completed by the end of 2018
