ISLAMABAD: The anti-encroachment drive in the federal city, launched by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is in full swing.
The operation is being executed by Enforcement Directorate, Directorate of Municipal Administration and Building Control Section of the CDA.
CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal has directed the concerned formations of the Authority to continue the operation against the illegal structures and encroachments with consistency. He also directed the staff to gear up the operation against the non-confirming use so that the commercial activities in the residential areas of different sectors.
It is highly encouraging that the people are voluntarily abandoning the commercial activities in the residential areas and other people should also cooperate with CDA and follow this precedent.
The different teams of the Enforcement Directorate took prompt action against illegal structures and encroachments in Mouza Sorain of Sector I-12 and demolished eight animal sheds.
During the grand operation in Markaz G-9 (Karachi Company), anti-encroachment teams conducted the operation against cloths and artificial jewelry stalls and confiscated 12 fully loaded trucks of different goods from the area.
As a result, verandahs, parking areas, public pathways were cleared of encroachers in Markaz G-9. CDA’s operation against encroachments is also underway in other parts of the Federal Capital.
In Koral Chowk, anti-encroachment teams of the Authority has demolished 20 depots of building material, while in Khana Bridge area and Islamabad Expressway loop towards Lehtrar Road areas, numerous hand crafts, fruit and vegetable stalls have been removed.
The anti-encroachment teams have also removed stalls from Irum Market, while demolished nine houses comprising 10 rooms and nine mega boundary walls in Barri Imam area. Building Control in collaboration with the Enforcement Directorate have also conducted operation against the non-confirming use and sealed four houses in Sector F-7/2.
During the operation, anti-encroachment teams have also removed encroachments from Civic Centre G-6 (Melody Market).
