ISLAMABAD: A delegation of CDA Mazdoor Union led by its Secretary General Ch. Muhammad Yasin visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to congratulate the new office bearers of ICCI and assured to cooperate with Chamber in resolving the CDA related issues of business community.
Addressing the delegation, Ahmed Hassan Moughal, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that almost 90 percent of the issues of local business community were related to CDA and the role of CDA Mazdoor Union was important in resolving those issues to facilitate the growth of business activities. He said that CDA Union should act as a bridge between the civic body and ICCI for facilitating the smooth growth of business ventures.
He said that CDA Mazdoor Union has better understanding of the major problems of trade and industry and its cooperation would go a long way in enabling trade and industry to flourish. He said that business community and CDA employees were also two important stakeholders in the development of city and their close collaboration would also help in better development of the city. He said that the role of CDA employees was important in improving the performance of the civic body to make it an efficient and effective civic body. He assured that ICCI would support the protection of legal rights of CDA employees.
Speaking at the occasion, Ch. Muhammad Yasin, Secretary General, CDA Mazdoor Union said that the business community was the backbone of local economy and CDA Mazdoor Union was committed to cooperate in resolving major issues of trade and industry. He said that close liaison between ICCI and CDA Mazdoor Union would help in achieving common objectives of developing Islamabad as a model city and facilitating the growth of business activities. He said the tense relations between CDA and MCI over the distribution of functions and resources have affected the pace of development works in the city. He said that CDA Union supported the inclusion of sitting President ICCI in CDA Board that would be beneficial for the business community. It was agreed that both parties should join hands and work together for the development of city and growth of business activities.
Iftikhar Anwar Sethi Vice President ICCI, Zubair Ahmed Malik Chairman Founder Group, Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi former President ICCI, Khalid Chaudhry and others also spoke at the occasion and stressed for the need of close cooperation between ICCI and CDA Mazdoor Union for achieving mutually beneficial goals.
