China sells $113.63bn of foreign exchange in Aug

BEIJING: China’s central bank and commercial banks sold a net 723.8 billion yuan (US$113.63 billion) of foreign exchange in August, by far the largest on record, highlighting how capital outflows intensified in the wake of the yuan’s devaluation last month. Customs court awards post-arrest bail to alleged currency smuggler

KARACHI: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Monday granted post-arrest bail to a suspect in a currency smuggling case. Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi directed suspect Ghulam Mehdi Karani to deposit surety bond of Rs 200,000.
