KARACHI: Collector Customs Adjudication-II Tahir Qureshi has said that cases of more than 11 defaulter companies are under observation.
The Customs Adjudication-II collected Rs6.28million from M/s Sufyan Ali and Sons Karachi. Source told Customs Today that the Customs Adjudication-II served a final notice on a defaulter company named M/s Ayan Plastic and Export and recovered Rs6.28million from M/s Sufyan Ali and Sons Karachi.
M/s Ayan Plastic and Export was involved in the tax evasion. The company imported hard plastic Dana beans on August 19, 2017 and used the wrong PCT heading.
After a careful investigation, the Customs Adjudication-II issued a final notice to the company to clear the outstanding amount of Rs6.48 million.
Source said that another company M/s Sufyan Ali and Sons Karachi got cleared a consignment of used computer systems and accessories on November 22 and evaded tax amount of Rs6.28million.
After the investigation, Customs Adjudication-II served a show cause notice on the company on December 22, but it failed to clear the outstanding tax amount.
The Collector Customs Adjudication-II issued a final notice to the company on 1st of January 2018. After receiving the notice, the company deposited Rs6.28million in favor of the Customs Department.
