LAHORE: Chief Commissioner, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Sargodha, Saleem Raza Asif has said that efforts will be made to check the sale of smuggled/non-duty paid cigarettes.
Talking to Customs Today, he said the FBR had launched a campaign against all wholesalers, retailers and consumers which were involved in selling of such illegal products. He added that the sale and possession of smuggled/non-duty paid products was illegal.
The chief commissioner said that officials concerned would monitor the illegal sale at all outlets in the city and strict action would be taken against the violators.
In this regard, the FBR has also started a comprehensive campaign in the daily newspapers titled ‘Say no to Smuggled/non-duty paid cigarettes’.
