LONDON: There is a significantly higher level of business confidence in Wales compared to other countries and regions of the UK, a leading economic analyst has said.
Speaking at the launch of the Grant Thornton UK Business Confidence Monitor Report, associate director James Roberts said: “We are facing headwinds with a decline in exports, which can be traced to the slowdown in the Chinese economy, and the quarter one contraction in US GDP has given cause for concern.”
The EU referendum, he said, had also given a cause for concern with 40% of all Welsh exports going to EU countries, so an exit would have a direct impact.
