LAHORE: Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Sikander Hayat Khan Bosan on Monday visited Pakistan Agricultural Storage & Services Corporation (PASSCO) head office in connection with ongoing wheat procurement drive 2015.
PASSCO Managing Director Captain (R), Tariq Masud welcomed the minister and discussed matters related to wheat procurement.
PASSCO General Manager (Field) Brig (R) Rashid Ali also informed the minister about recent development on distribution of gunny bags and purchase of wheat.
Till now 56 percent gunny bags in Punjab, 88 percent in Sindh and 63 percent in Balochistan have been distributed while about 22 percent of wheat purchase process has been completed across the country.
The minister lauded efforts of the PASSCO and expressed satisfaction that the PASSCO was giving gunny bags to small farmers on priority.
He directed to distribute gunny bags to remaining small farmers on priority and not to get any complaint in this regard.
He also issued special directives that farmers of Balochistan should not face any problem while giving their wheat to the PASSCO.
