ISLAMABAD: An audit team has recovered Rs 30 million bogus receiving receipts during the audit and has taken all the record into custody, including property tax, sources told Customs Today.
According to sources, the recovered property tax receipts are without any bank stamp which have been taken into control by the audit team.
Sources further added that the director excise and taxation Rawalpindi was on a officials visit to Jhelum office and was not present during the audit process.
Sources also added that the audit team also focus on clerk Afzal Bhatti who was promoted as inspector and assigned charge of three important departments i.e motor branch, property tax and excise.
It is important to mention here, that Director-General Excise and Taxation Punjab has constituted a four-member audit team under the supervision of Director Audit and Enforcement Lahore Muhammad Asif to investigate into the financial and administrative irregularities in Excise and Taxation office Rawalpindi.
