CALIFORNIA: To the tune of Marlena Shaw’s “California Soul,” Australian mall developer Westfield released new renderings for its $800 million transformation of its Century City shopping center in a fly through video posted to the company’s official website June 15.
Touting California modernism and the best of L.A. dining, the new expansion project will make room for more than 70 additional stores and restaurants inside a two-story, 1.2 million square foot mall, scheduled for completion in 2017.
Westfield Century City 2.0 will spotlight eight acres of outdoor space, more than 3,000 new jobs, and double the current total parking spaces for 4,700 cars. Among the 220 boutiques and eateries is the all star lineup of Nordstrom’s three level flagship store, a new two-level Macy’s, a remodeled three level Bloomingdale’s and Mario Batali’s first West Coast Eataly.
