FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Mianwali has impounded a Toyota Land Cruiser in Silver Colour. The market value of the impounded vehicle is Rs04million involving customs duty and taxes of Rs02.8million.
Sources told Customs Today that ASO Mianwali Deputy Collector Rana Falik Shair received a tip-off regarding the smuggling of above said vehicle. He immediately constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Javid Mehmood, Azhar Hussain Jafri, Amir Mumtaz Bajwa, driver Riasat Hussain, and sepoys Saif Ullah, Ghulam Mohayudin, Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Abdullah, Faiz Ahmed and Sher Ahmed.
The ASO team intercepted a foreign origin Toyota Land Cruiser, five-door, with registration No: LZR-298 (Lahore) near Chashma Barrage, district Mianwali, and asked its owner, identified as Hamid Ullah son of Gul Ruppay Jan, to provide the legal documents of the vehicle but he failed to do the same.
The ASO team impounded the Toyota Land Cruiser and registered a case against its owner and forwarded the case to the Customs Adjudication.
