ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water & Power Khawaja Asif has called on Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Political Director Jesper Moller Sorensen along with Charge d’Affaires Helle Nielsen and Commercial Counsellor Assar Qureshi and discussed energy projects with them.
During the meeting, the minister pointed out ways to attract more international investments to Pakistan, especially within wind energy. Pakistan and Denmark enjoy close and cordial relations and are working closely together on a bilateral and multilateral level.
It was apprised that Pakistan has a huge potential for renewable energy and Denmark has long been a pioneer, especially in wind energy. The Danish companies are global leaders in green energy and energy efficiency. In these areas, Denmark has something to offer Pakistan, which is facing a serious energy challenge.
Sorensen also briefed the minister about Danish success story of transitioning from a society dependent on imported fossil-fuel to a completely energy independent economy with an increasing amount of renewable in the energy mix.
The minister said that the policies of the government are business-friendly and all the government machinery will facilitate the international investors. He further assured the Danish delegation that the government would facilitate the international companies who are interested to invest in Pakistan.
