WASHINGTON: IC packaging and testing house Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) has reported consolidated revenues of NT$21.53 billion (US$645.5 million) for December 2015, down 17.9% on month and 13.4% on year.
Despite revenue falls in December, ASE’s consolidated sales for the fourth quarter of 2015 increased 3.7% sequentially to NT$75.4 billion. The revenue result was the second-highest quarterly level in the company’s history.
ASE also disclosed the company’s core IC ATM (assembly test and material) business posted revenues of NT$38.41 billion in the fourth quarter of 2015, down 3.7% on quarter and 12.5% from a year earlier.
ASE estimated previously that the average utilization rate of the company’s IC ATM operation would fall 4-6% sequentially in the fourth quarter while utilization rate of its EMS operation would rise 14-16%. ASE posted consolidated revenues of NT$283.3 billion for 2015, up 10.4% on year and hitting a record high.
