KARACHI: The authorities concerned of Model Customs Collectorate-MCC of Appraisement (West) have sought the verification of the educational documents of the officials from Grade-7 to Grade-16.
In this regard, the Collectorate has forwarded a letter to University of Karachi (UoK) and others universities for seeking authenticity of the educational documents of the officials.
The reliable sources informed Customs Today that the educational documents of the officials at principal appraiser, appraiser, Upper Divisional Clerk (UDC) and Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC) level working in Bank Guarantee Cell, Licensing Branch, Post Release Verification (PRV) and Management Information System (MIS) have been sent for verification.
The sources further told this scribe that the said practice is being carried out on the directives of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in order to identify the fake degree holders in the Pakistan Customs Services (PCS). “The legal action would be taken against those officials whose educational documents found fake on any ground,” the sources added. The sources further informed that the entire process of verification of the educational documents from different varsities would take a time period of a month.
