KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement-East collected additional revenue of Rs 70.15 million in September through administrative measures pushing cumulative revenue collection under the same head during the first quarter ended September 30 to Rs 178.26 million.
A letter dated October 10 sent to Secretary (Customs Budget), FBR, Islamabad, read that the collectorate collected Rs 70.15 million revenue through administrative measures in September. The Appraisement-East collected Rs 38.09 revenue from the encashment of securities and recovered Rs 20.98 million from Research and Development detection and Rs 7.35 million from contravention cases. In addition, the collectorate generated Rs 1.5 million from auction and Rs 2.23 million under the head of warehousing/overstayed goods during September.
During the first three months of the current fiscal year ended September 30, administrative measures helped the collectorate earn Rs 178.26 million. The breakdown is as follows: Rs 78.43 million from encashment of securities, Rs 3.86 million in arrears, Rs 71.58 million in R&D detection, Rs 17.67 million in recovery of contravention cases, Rs 3.5 million from auction and Rs 3.21 million from warehousing/overstayed goods.
The collectorate has collected Rs 53,154.26 million during the first quarter ended September 30 under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, withholding tax and federal excise duty.
