NEW YORK: An Apple rep confirmed that the company has opened an engineering office while “largely built in Seattle”. The office will be staffed by former engineers from F5 Networks and Union Bay Networks who are working on network infrastructure.
According to reports about 30 engineers are working in Apple’s new Seattle office. Seven of Union Bay’s nine employees are now Apple employees. Apple reps could not be reached for further comment.
Apple joins other Silicon Valley-based rivals, most notably Google, Facebook and Twitter that have set up Seattle offices in recent years, drawn by the region’s tech talent.
