KARACHI: All Pakistan Motor Dealers Association (APMDA) appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to resolve their outstanding issues on priority basis.
In a letter addressed to prime minister they stated that people are facing difficulties due to travel disruptions all over the world. Those vehicles imported under various baggage schemes are lying at port awaiting payment of duties through encashment certificates from abroad. This has become almost impossible due to travel restrictions.
It is therefore suggested that at this difficult movement, it would be prudent to allow payment of duties locally as was dome previously. This will solve their problem and also result in substantial revenue for the government.
The prime minister is nowadays resolving long standing issues to support business and at the boost the economic activity in the country.
The issue of SRO 52 (I) 2019 is another old issue which has crippled the import of used car activity and has brought about a loss of more than Rs100 billio to the government. We request to the prime minister to allow sthe commercial import of used car and restore livelihood of hundreds and thousands people belonged to auto sector.
