KARACHI: The All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA) after getting verdict of its restoration by the Sindh High Court (SHC) has decided to hold a general meeting of all its countrywide members in upcoming days, Customs Today learnt Wednesday.
The APCAA sources said that the association has started to contact its members countrywide and invite them for attending general members’ meeting, which is to be scheduled in next week or so. “We have a plan to hold a press conference at Karachi Press Club (KPC) in the start of November after holding a meeting with all our members countrywide,” sources added. The APCAA sources further informed that the association has a proper plan to facilitate its members and it will announce by the leadership in the upcoming press conference.
Responding to a query, the APCAA sources said that the association has nothing to do with the politics of Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA), as it has been defunct after the restoration of All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA). Replying to another question, the APCAA sources denied any contact with the office-bearers of KCAA, as it has no legal status after the verdict of SHC and the APCAA, as a sole trade body of the Customs agents is determined to safeguard the rights of its members only.
It is pertinent to mention here that the division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) has disposed of a petition filed by Saifullah, former President of KCAA and Tariq Siddiqui, former General Secretary KCAA against All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA) in the year 2010.
