ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) has seized huge cache of drugs comprising 4.7 tons hashish and 1kg heroin during seven operations at different cities of the country.
During operations, the ANF also apprehended 6 offenders allegedly involved in drug trafficking including a woman, while impounding three vehicles.
The ANF Quetta, in an intelligence-led operation carried out near Northern Bypass, Quetta, seized 4,396kg hashish. The drug consignment was concealed at a desolate sited situated in the area of Killi Musafir near Hazarganji, Western Bypass Quetta. Drug was stuffed in plastic sacks and was to be handed over to another narcotics gang for further dispatch.
The ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a UK-bound parcel at APX Courier Services and recovered 1kg heroin concealed in baby coats. An accused namely Muhammad Walid, resident of Rawalpindi, was also taken into custody on the spot.
The ANF Peshawar, on searching a Suzuki Mehran car No LOG-3123 near Malik Taj Market, Jamrud Road, recovered 3.6kg hashish concealed in it. An accused namely Muhammad Ishfaq, resident of Khyber Agency, was also arrested.
In addition, an ANF Peshawar airport team detained a passenger Allah Jan, resident of North Wazirstan at Peshawar Airport, when he was about to board Abu Dhabi-bound Flight No PA-630 and recovered 400g hashish concealed in a cricket bat.
Further, the ANF Peshawar apprehended a woman Shagufta, while she was travelling in passenger van bound for Mardan and recovered 3.6kg hashish from her possession.
The ANF Karachi seized a Suzuki hi-roof at Habib Bank, Chowrangi, Nazmabad, and recovered 300kg hashish from secret cavities of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle Muhmmad Habib was also arrested during the operation.
In another operation, the ANF Karachi captured a Toyota Corolla GLI Car at Fateh Chowk, bus stop, Hyderabad, and arrested a local drug supplier Ghulam Mustafa, resident of Tando Muhammad Khan and recovered 5kg hashish.
All the cases have been registered in the respective ANF police stations and further investigations are underway.
