ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) recovered huge quantity of drugs including 3331.850kg charas and heroin-filled capsules worth Rs333 million and arrested arrests 12 drug traffickers & seized four vehicles during seven different operations launched across the country.
As per details, the ANF Quetta conducted a successful intelligence-led operation and seized 3281kg charas (garda) from uninhabited area of Killi Habib Zai, Dashti Loorah, Tehsil Gulistan, District Qilla Abdullah. The consignment was hidden at a deserted site situated in the cuttings of mountainous terrain and was intended to be handed over to some other narco-gang for onward transfer to some overseas destination via sea route from coastal belt of Balochistan.
The ANF Peshawar Road Check Team on pursuance of a tipoff, seized a Suzuki pick-up Registration No KM-2559 at Kacha Paka Bazar, Hangu Road, Kohat. During the search, 40.8kg charas was recovered from the vehicle. Three drug traffickers on board namely Shahzad Ali, Syed Naheed Hussain, both residents of Kohat and Anab Ali r/o Orakzai Agency were arrested on the spot. As per initial investigations, they were transporting drugs from Orakzai Agency to Kohat for local consumption.
Another ANF Peshawar Road Check Team intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Registered No FDU-1900 near Zam-Zama Hotel, DT Road, Abbottabad and recovered 6kg charas concealed in it. During the operation, three accused persons Niaz Muhammad, Abdullah and Saleh Muhammad were taken into custody.
The ANF Peshawar stopped a suspected Islamabad Registered Toyota Corolla No VA-144 at main Motorway toll plaza and recovered 1.25kg charas concealed inside the car. Two occupants of the car namely Muhad Ahmed r/o Swabi and Fazal Sher r/o Peshawar were apprehended during the operation. Another ANF Peshawar team during routine checking at main Motorway toll plaza searched a passenger van No LES-5255 and recovered 800g charas from personal possession of a passenger Hameed Ullah r/o Peshawar.
Meanwhile, the ANF Rawalpindi team recovered 2kg charas from personal possession of Gul Madar Khan r/o Peshawar and Gul Jan r/o Kohat after intercepting them at Tarki toll plaza, Jhelum. They were riding on a motorcycle, which has also been seized.
Moreover, the ANF Lahore airport team during routine profiling detained a passenger Waqas Ahmed, a resident of Sialkot at Sialkot Airport on suspicion of having gulped heroin-filled capsules. During interrogation, the accused confessed to having capsules in his stomach. The accused intended to board for Milan (Italy) via Dubai by Emirates Airline Flight No EK-621. Later on, the accused was admitted to Allama Iqbal Hospital, Sialkot for recovery of capsules.
All the cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF police stations and further investigations are under process.
