LAHORE: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin from Allama Iqbal International Airport to Colombo. The estimated value of the seized heroin is more than Rs 10 million.
Sources told Customs Today that a passenger who was identified as Kashif Mughal was going to collect his boarding card for Colombo bound flight. During routine checking, the ANF team recovered one kilogram heroin of precious quality from jewelry boxes which was hidden inside the passenger’s bag. Sources said the heroin was technically concealed under the designed fabric of jewelry boxes.
The ANF team arrested the passenger on the spot and registered narcotics smuggling case against him. The accused was sent to unknown place for further investigation.
