ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled a unique drug smuggling bid at the Islamabad airport on Friday and recovered 25 heroin-soaked sweaters from a man.
The ANF officials stopped a British man of Pakistani origin before he could board a flight to Manchester in the UK. Mohammad Aakash Habib, a 23-year-old, had soaked 25 sweaters in 24kg of heroin and was attempting to smuggle them out of Pakistan. He was taken to the ANF cell after being arrested.
Meanwhile, the ANF has arrested two drug peddlers from Karachi’s Jodia Bazar.
According to an official, one kilogramme of ice and around 1,000 tablets of ecstasy were recovered from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Niaz Muhammad and Kaleem Ullah. The approximate value of the recovered drugs in the international market is Rs1.5 million. A case against the accused has been registered at the ANF police station in Clifton.
