ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled bids to smuggle drugs to foreign countries and recovered 1.5 kilograms of heroin from two smugglers and arrested them in separate operations at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad.
ANF sources told Customs Today that ANF team received information that an attempt is being made to smuggle heroin from BBI Airport Islamabad so ANF team searched the passengers and recovered 1 kilogram of heroin from one passenger Zameer Hassan.
Sources further added that accused Zameer Hassan was ready to fly by Oman Airlines flight no. WY-348 to Dammam via Muscat. While during another operation, the ANF team recovered 50 capsules from a passenger named Muhammad Asif. The sources added that accused had eaten the capsules which were full of heroin. The accused was ready to fly in the Etihad Airlines flight no.EY-232 to Italy via Abu Dhabi. Sources added that the ANF team arrested both the accused named Zameer Hassan and Muhammad Asif and registered cases of smuggling against them.
