ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) recovered 376.4 kgs of Hashish, 74 kgs of Heroin and 24 kgs of Opium in various raids carried out in Sheikhupura, Peshawar, Gilgit, Karachi and Hub.
The force also nabbed six peddlers and seized two vehicles.
According to details, the ANF Lahore intercepted a Toyota Corolla XLI (without number) near Sheikhupura Motorway Interchange and recovered 373.2 kgs of Charas and 24 kgs. The force also arrested two smugglers identified as Khursheed Alam, son of Alam Khan and Umar Khan, son of Nasirullah Khan, residents of Charsada.
Similarly in Quetta, the ANF intercepted a Suzuki Khyber car (M-8072) near Super Balochistan Hotel ON Karachi-Hub Road and recovered 74 Kgs of Heroin from it. The drugs were being transported from Balochistan to Karachi.
In Karachi, the ANF arrested one Ghulam Sarwar, son of Abdul Hakeem, a resident of Hyderabad near Ayub Hotel on National Highway and recovered 3 kgs of Charas from his possession.
Meanwhile in Gilgit, the ANF conducted a raid near FIA Barrier at Soust Dry Port on Khanjrab Road and captured Hyder Ali, son of Shakoor Ali, a resident of Gilgit with 200 grams of Charas.
At Peshawar Airport, the ANF intercepted a passenger Wahid Khan, son of Gulab Khan, a resident of Mardan and recovered 112 Heroin filled capsules tactfully concealed in a packet containing Sohan Halwa. The accused was trying to leave for Sharjah through Shaheen Airline Flight NL-792.
In another raid, the ANF busted a passenger Umar Hayat, son of Amir Noushad, a resident of Swat at airport and captured 51 Heroin filled capsules from possession. He was trying to board Shaheen Airline Flight NL-786 for Dubai.
