LAHORE: Anti Narcotics Force has carried out six operations in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Kasur, Peshawar and Karachi arrested six drug peddlers including a foreign national and recovered 21 kg heroin, 2.20 kg opium and cocaine. Most of the drugs were destined abroad.
A press release said that ANF Rawalpindi Airport team arrested a dual national of Pakistan and Britain and recovered 9 kg heroin concealed in cooking pots and folds of his bag. He was to travel from Rawalpindi to Birmingham, UK by PIA flight.
In another incident in Rawalpindi, ANF intercepted a parcel and recovered 640 grams of heroin in the parcel. The parcel was booked by DHL courier office, Islamabad and was destined for Italy. The drugs were tactfully concealed in four bed sheets and 8 pillow covers.
ANF Lahore Airport arrested a Malian citizen, Pascale Toure, who confessed having cocaine filled capsules in his stomach. The accused had arrived from Cameroon, a country in Africa via Dubai by PIA flight.
ANF Lahore, in another incident, arrested two individuals including a female, residents of Sahiwal and recovered 2.20 kg of opium and 500 grams of heroin from their possession. The accused were arrested while travelling on a motorbike near Shell Petrol Pump, Pattoki Bypass, Kasur.
ANF Peshawar arrested a man resident of Landi Kotal, Khyber Agency on information provided by already arrested person and recovered 9.83 kg heroin and 82 capsules containing 830 grams of heroin. The accused was arrested from Hayatabad in Peshawar.
ANF team at Karachi Airport arrested a man belonging to Karachi and recovered 90 grams of heroin from his possession. The drugs were tactfully concealed in his undergarments. The accused was to travel from Karachi to Dubai by Emirates Airlines.
Cases against all the accused persons have been registered in ANF Police Stations and further investigation is under process.
