KARACHI: The authorities concerned of all field formation Collectorates i.e. MCC-Appraisement-East, MCC-Appraisement-West and MCC-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim have expedited their full tone efforts in order to achieve or surpass the revenue target set by the Federal Board of Revenue-FBR by the end of fiscal year 2014-15.
The sources informed Customs Today that the authorities concerned of all three field formation Collectorates have issued directives to the respective officers and officials to liquidate the stuck-up revenue in terms of bank guarantee (BG), indemnity bonds (IB), post dated cheques (PDC) and others means.
The sources further informed this scribe that the authorities concerned of all three field formation Collectorates have also issued billions of rupees demand notices of outstanding payments stood against different importers in their differential amount on the time of import the consignments.
They further said that the authorities concerned of all those field formation Collectorates are asked to stay in their offices till 12.00 am midnight in order to ensure as many as revenue collection in form of duty/taxes.
The officers and officials of all those field formation Collectorates would also hold their Iftar in offices and will return to home during mid night due to the last day of the fiscal year 2014-15.
According to revenue figures for entire year, MCC-Appraisement-East and MCC-Appraisement -West would easily achieve or surpass the revenue targets, as both the Collectorates have been consistent and study throughout the current fiscal year 2014-15 in achieving its revenue targets.
However, the MCC-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim would certainly face the issues of revenue shortfall and missing of revenue target set by the FBR authorities concerned as the officials of the Collectorate are often involve in annoying and irritating the importers, so that is why the importers were shifting their business from MCC-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim to MCC-Appraisement-East or MCC-Appraisement-West for speedy disposal of their consignments.
