KARACHI: The authorities concerned of Appraising Intelligence Branch AIB, while following the directives of Collector MCC Appraisement-West Muhammad Saleem, has blocked the NTN of the importer Royal Chemicals due to non-payment of legitimate duty after several intimations sent by the authorities concerned to the importer.
According to details, the Appraising Intelligence Branch (AIB) of Model Customs Collectorate MCC of Appraisement-West has detected tax evasion amounting to Rs 2.6 million from the importer Royal Chemicals in its alleged violation of SRO 1125(I)/2011 on import of “Trichloroisocyanuric Acid” (TCCA 90 percent).
The AIB, after detecting the tax evasion, issued short recovery demand notices against the importer. However, the importer failed to deposit the evaded taxes in stipulated time.
Reacting on the non-payment of legitimate taxes, the authorities concerned of AIB have written letters to the Assistant Collector AIB Usman Tariq and Additional Collector ADC-III Nayyar Shafiq. The said authorities forwarded the letters received by the AIB to the Collector MCC Appraisement-West Muhammad Saleem for further action.
The Collector MCC Appraisement-West after reviewing the entire details of the case has issued orders to block the NTN of the importer Royal Chemicals till the complete recovery of evaded duty.
AIB authorities have found an amount of Rs 26 million remained short against the subject for Goods Declaration including KAPW-HC-101131-05-01-2015 had short recovery of Rs660704; KAPW-HC-35674-09-09-2014 had short recovery amounting to Rs659027; KAPW-HC-9486-18-07-2014 had short recovery amounting to Rs617294 and KAPW-HC-13025-02-08-2013 had realized short recovery of Rs669198.
