LAHORE: Federal Minister for Planning Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal, defending the ongoing projects initiated by the PML-N government, has asked the Pakistani engineers who know the technical authenticity of development projects such as dams and other infrastructure to come forward highlights features of these projects to end false political obstructionism.
He said this while speaking at University of Engineering and Technology Lahore Alumni Re-union ceremony, which was organised at the new auditorium hall.
The federal minister said Pakistan could move to top 25 economies of the world by 2025 with the passion of people of Pakistan and the talent of our youth, which could even take the country in top ten economies of the world by 2047. Pakistan is a successful emerging state, which can be developed economically through self-belief and positivity by defeating the negativity, he added.
Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan needed seven to eight percent transformational growth in the next 10 years to mobilise resources for social uplift of backward areas of the country and create jobs for growing youths’ population. He believed passion of Pakistani people would realise this dream true. He said Vision-2025 and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would help realise the dream of economically developed Pakistan.
The minister appreciated the UET engineers and scientists and noted that their quality spoke of hard-work. He assured that workable recommendations of research papers would be utilised in policy-making.
Ahsan Iqbal stated “650 km missing link on western route would be completed by December 2016. It is pertinent to mention here that all kinds of financial support are available for UET engineers for strengthening of Pakistan.
