KARACHI: Government of Pakistan has agreed upon extending access of WeBOC to Afghan Commerce Ministry.
An official of Federal Board of Revenue told Customs Today that a meeting has been held recently between officials of FBR and Commerce Ministry of Afghanistan in which it was agreed to grant access of WeBOC to Afghan Commerce Ministry.
He further informed that the authorities concerned of both the neighbouring countries are working on it in order to organise a proper framework in this regard and the system would soon be integrated with WeBOC.
Replying to a question, the FBR official admitted that the government was facing shortage of funds in connection with installation of scanners on reverse cargo routes. However, international donors have expressed their desire for resolving the issue in order to make the entire system more transparent.
