22 meetings scheduled during Dec 11-20 to fix Customs values of several items

KARACHI: With the aim to determine customs values of several items, the Directorate General of Customs Valuation has scheduled several meetings with the stakeholders, including importers, traders and industry representatives.

According to the schedule, on December 11 (Tuesday), four meetings have been convened by Customs Valuations Assistant Director Arma Hassan to discuss valuations of olives, phthalic anhydride and ethyl hexanol, baby feeders and Deputy Director Dr Abdul Qudoos Shaikh would discuss valuation of hard disks with the representatives of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), importers and manufacturers.

On December 12 (Wednesday), Deputy Director Dr Abdul Qudoos Shaikh would discuss customs valuations of generator sets, glass tubing of a kind used for the manufacture of ampoule, and artificial jewellery.

On December 13 (Thursday), Deputy Director Abdul Majeed convened meeting to discuss valuation of baby diapers & sanitary napkins, while Deputy Director Dr Abdul Qudoos Shaikh would discuss valuations of suitcases (soft & hard) low end brand, and school bags, briefcases and laptop bags.

On December 17 (Monday), Deputy Director Amanullah Soomro convened two meetings to discuss customs valuations of shoe tacks and aluminium/metal scrap, while Deputy Director Dr Abdul Qudoos Shaikh would discuss valuation of blank DVD R/CD-R.

On December 18 (Tuesday), Deputy Director Dr Abdul Qudoos Shaikh would discuss valuations of branded men/women leather shoes and gypsum board, gypsum tiles, fiber cement board and fibre cement corrugated sheets. On the same day, Deputy Director Amanullah Soomro has also convened a meeting to discuss valuation of aluminium radiators.

On December 19 (Wednesday), Deputy Director Dr Abdul Qudoos Shaikh would discuss valuation of kitchen hood/chimney.

On December 20 (Thursday), Deputy Director Dr Abdul Qudoos Shaikh convened five meetings to discuss valuations of aseptic packing material for liquid food/beverage, glass beads & crystal glass chaton, latex rubber threads, insole board and wallpapers with the representatives of FPCCI, KCCI, importers and manufacturers.
